OnePlus to open its first ever experience store in India on January 7

While OnePlus sells its products online via an exclusive partnership with Amazon, the company is now going offline, sort of. The company has announced opening of its first experience center in India. Scheduled to open in Bengaluru on January 7, the experience store is spread in an area of 14,000 sq ft. The store is located at Hira Property at No 5, New No 213, Brigade Road, Bangalore.

OnePlus India Tweet : Hello India. Our first OnePlus Experience Store is opening soon and you should drop by!

OnePlus also announced that on the day of the store’s launch it has some surprises in store, and a chance to catch Pete & Carl in person! Three lucky fans will receive OnePlus All Access Passes, which guarantee them an opportunity to spend time with Pete & Carl and win some merchandise. To participate in the contest to win the all access card, users need to tell OnePlus in comments on their Facebook Advert page, why they deserve a chance to meet Pete & Carl.

Additionally, OnePlus also has some launch day offers at the store under which users can purchase the OnePlus 3T 64GB and 128GB in Gunmetal and OnePlus 3T 64GB in Soft Gold, among other OnePlus devices on offer that day.

Considering that OnePlus sells its products online only, in all probabilities the experience store would not double up as an offline sales store. Instead, the store will be limited to showcasing its latest releases and offer demonstration for its devices. OnePlus India’s general manager Vikas Agarwal also confirmed to Economic Times, that “opening of its experience store doesn’t mean any change in its online sales model. The OnePlus smartphones will still be available exclusively on Amazon India, as the online-sales model gives the company the pricing advantage.”

OnePlus further revealed that the company plans to expand the number of such centres across India, which, however will be based on the success of the first one. “OnePlus experience store will offer consumers the option to ‘touch and feel’ the phones before purchasing them online ET reported. In addition to that, Vikas Agarwal also told the publication that OnePlus plans to locally manufacture the OnePlus 3 smartphones in India starting next quarter.
