As speculated, OnePlus officially announced a new variant to its OnePlus 3T flagship smartphone. The special edition OnePlus 3T has been designed in collaboration with iconic concept store of Paris – colette, and contrary to some reports it is not blue. Dubbed, OnePlus 3T colette edition, the smartphone is exclusively available in colette stores in Paris. Priced at 479 euros (approximately Rs 34,000), the limited edition smartphone will be available only in 128GB version.
The OnePlus 3T colette edition marks the 20th anniversary of the fashion boutique and there will only be 250 specially engraved units of the all-black OnePlus 3T featuring the colette logo. It will start selling from March 21. OnePlus is also offering a free pair of OnePlus Bullets to early birds.
To put into perspective, the original OnePlus 3T 128GB variant is priced $479 (approximately Rs 32,000), which is lesser than the new OnePlus 3T colette edition. As the company mentions in its blog, the new smartphone is ‘sleekest and most stunning OnePlus device’ to date.
OnePlus launched the OnePlus 3T in five months of launching the flagship OnePlus 3 smartphone. As a new variant to the flagship smartphone, the OnePlus 3T brings some incremental changes under the hood while keeping the design language intact.
OnePlus 3T Specification and features
Talking about the specifications, the OnePlus 3T features a 5.5-inch full HD (1920×1080 pixels) Optic AMOLED display with Corning’s Gorilla Glass 4 protection. Under the hood, it is powered by Snapdragon 821 processor clocked at 2.35GHz and paired with 6GB of RAM. Originally, there are two storage choices of 64GB and 128GB.
For photography, the OnePlus 3T sports a 16-megapixel rear camera with Sony IMX398 image sensor, f/2.0 aperture, Phase Detection Auto-focus (PDAF), Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS), and 4K video recording capabilities. There is also a 16-megapixel fixed-focus selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture and 1080p video recording capabilities.
It is fuelled by a 3,400mAh battery with support for the company’s proprietary Dash Charge technology. There is also a fingerprint scanner embedded into the home button up front, and an Alert Slider on the side. Connectivity options include dual-SIM card slots, 4G LTE support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC and GPS. On the software front, the OnePlus 3T was shipped with Android 6.0 Marshmallow-based Oxygen OS with a promised update to Android 7.0 Nougat.
