Apart from the likes of Samsung Galaxy S8 and the Apple iPhone 8, it’s Xiaomi’s Mi 6 that has kept the rumor mills quite busy these past few weeks.
The images were leaked on Weibo, and Techiestate. The pure black variant shown in the images reiterates the chamfered edges design at the back. The images also show that the volume and power buttons are housed on the right edge of the Mi 6. Furthremore, the Xiaomi Mi 6 has the flash located first on the left edge, followed by the two camera sensors at the back in one horizontal line. The report also points to an April 11 launch for the Xiaomi Mi 6.
Now, ahead of the launch scheduled on April 11, a new leak has allegedly revealed the pricing of the upcoming Xiaomi Mi 6. The leak, spotted by Mydrivers, reveals prices of different variants of the Xiaomi Mi 6. According to the listing, the Mi 6 will be available in 4GB+32GB variant priced at RMB 1,999 (Rs 18,900 approximately), a 4GB+64GB version priced at RMB 2,299 (Rs 21,800 approximately), and a 6GB+128GB version priced at RMB 2,699 (Rs 25,600 approximately).
Interestingly, the report also suggests that Xiaomi is likely to launch a bigger 5.7-inch variant of the phone called, dubbed Mi 6 Plus. As per the report, the Xiaomi Mi 6 Plus too will be available in three different variants. The 4GB+64GB base variant will be priced at RMB 2,599 (Rs 24,600 approximately), the 6GB+128GB version will be priced at RMB 2,999 (Rs 28,400 approximately), and a high-end variant with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage will be priced at RMB 3,499 (Rs 33,300 approximately).
Xiaomi Mi 6 specifications and features
From what we know so far, the Xiaomi Mi 6 will feature a 5.2-inch LCD display with a 2.5D curved glass. Some leaks suggest that the device could come with a 4K resolution display. This year, Sony has already launched the XZ Premium, which flaunts a 4K resolution display.
Recently, there have been some contradictory reports about what processor will power the Mi 6. While the popular belief is that it will come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset, there have been other leaks that suggest the smartphone will come with a Snapdragon 821 SoC instead.
On the camera front, leaks suggest that the Mi 6 camera will use a Sony IMX386 sensor for its main 12-megapixel shooter and the Sony IMX268 8-megapixel unit for the front facing camera.
Apart from that the smartphone will be armed with a 3,000mAh battery and could come with a USB Type-C port. On the software front, the Mi 6 will most likely run on Android 7.0 Nougat with MIUI OS layered on top.
