Less than a week to go for the formal launch of the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ and the rumor mill just won’t stop churning out new details about the flagship smartphones. Honestly, is there anything that we don’t know about the ‘anticipated’ smartphones to be unveiled at the ‘most closely watched product launch in years’? The newest information adds more details about color options and confirms the battery capacities of the two models.
Serial leakster Evan Blass in his latest tweet revealed that the Galaxy S8 will be available in Black, Grey and Gold color choices. This follows his earlier tweet that revealed the Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S8+ in Black Sky, Orchid Grey, and Arctic Silver color choices. Interestingly, it was earlier reported that there will be up to seven different color options including Blue, Matte Black, Jet Black, and Pink, and the availability of these colors will vary according to the region the smartphones are launched in.

In a separate revelation, batteries of the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ have been leaked through photographs. In tune with earlier reports, the Galaxy S8 will house a 3,000mAh battery while the larger Galaxy S8+ will be equipped with a 3,500mAh battery.
While the battery capacities are not exceptional given that this year Samsung is opting for larger displays for both the models, the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ will be powered by Qualcomm’s newest Snapdragon 835 chipset which is claimed to offer more battery efficiency than the predecessor. To put into perspective, the Galaxy S8 will boast a 5.8-inch display and the Galaxy S8+ will feature a 6.2-inch display. Both models will have spilling displays, Type-C support, and run Android 7.1 Nougat out-of-the-box with TouchWiz layered atop.

Samsung is hosting an event in New York on March 29 where it will showcase the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ smartphones along with a set of new accessories related to battery and connectivity. It is speculated that the new smartphones will be priced higher than the predecessors at 799 Euros (approximately Rs 56,200) and 899 Euros (approximately Rs 63,200) onwards.
