According to a report by BGR, new claims from a well-known smartphone retailer, has hinted at the possible pricing of the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+. And if this rumor really pans out to be true, then the people who have been planning to buy the smartphone, better get ready to cough out a whole lot of cash.
From what British gadget retailer MobileFun.co.uk claims, the smartphones will have “sky-high pricing.” The retailer’s estimate suggests that the Galaxy S8 will cost £799, which translates to about Rs 65,000. The larger Galaxy S8+, on the other hand, could cost up to £899, which calculates to Rs 73,000.
Additionally, a few days ago, there was another leak around the possible pricing of the device, which falls exactly in line with today’s pricing leak. Leakster Roland Quandt revealed in a Twitter post that the Galaxy S8 could retail in European markets at 799 Euros, which turns out to be around Rs 57,000, while the larger Galaxy S8+ was quoted for 899 Euros, which would be Rs 10,000 lesser than today’s leak, that is Rs 63,000.

While that is undoubtedly overwhelming even for just being a leak, if you have really set your mind on the smartphone, may be recalling the rad features expected on the device, would calm your heart. We ought to begin with the design on the phones. From what we have learnt so far, Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ will feature a near bezel-less display, which removes the home button from the face of the phones. It is also worth mentioning that recently Samsung’s patent for an ‘Infinity Display’ has come into light. The patent talks about an aspect ratio of 18:9, indicating the new smartphones could boast displays which are twice as tall as they are wide.
Then, some other highlights on the device is its digital assistant Bixby, the Type-C port, along its courage to retain the 3.5mm headphone jack, the IP68 certification for water and dust resistance, and of course, the most advanced Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor at its heart.

Further, talking about the specifications of the phone in particular, the Galaxy S8 could feature a 5.8-inch Super AMOLED QHD display while the Galaxy S8+ is expected to come with a 6.2-inch display. Reports suggest that depending on the region, the Galaxy S8 and the larger variant could be powered by two different processors. Therefore, under the hood, the smartphones will either be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset or Samsung’s own Exynos 8895 SoC. Additionally, all models are likely to be equipped with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage along with support for storage expansion up to 2TB.
For photography, the Galaxy S8 may sport a 12-megapixel Dual-Pixel rear camera along with LED flash. Up front, the smartphone is likely to come with an 8-megapixel sensor, accompanied with an iris scanner, which is believed to work in addition to the rear fingerprint sensor for biometric authentication. On the software front, both models are likely to run Android 7.1 Nougat out-of-the-box with a layer of TouchWiz UI on top.
