This news comes from a Chinese report which reveals a lot more than just the release date. This undisclosed source says that the Mi 6 smartphone will be in fact powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 chipset. In addition to this, the Snapdragon chipset will not be an under-clocked version as rumored before. The report further mentions that the Xiaomi Mi 6 will feature a 5.2-inch LCD display with a 2.5D curved glass which is line with previous rumors. Xiaomi has been rumored to launch three variants of the Mi 6. This report adds on to this by saying that one of the variants will come with a ceramic body like the Mi Note 2.

The Mi 6 is also said to come with camera functionalities similar to that of Sony’s recently launched Xperia XZ Premium smartphone. Sony Xperia XZ Premium sports a 19-megapixel rear camera which can shoot 960 fps slow motion videos of 720 pixels. Up front, the smartphone houses a 13-megapixel wide-angle selfie camera. The Xiaomi Mi 6 was earlier rumored to pack a 12-megapixel Sony IMX386 sensor with 4K video recording capabilities and dual-tone LED flash. It was also rumored to sport an 8-megapixel Sony IMX268 selfie camera.

The pricing of the Mi 6 has also been suggested which will start at CNY 1,999 (Rs 19,400 approximately). The variant which will flaunt a ceramic body touted to be the high-end version is said to be priced at CNY 2,500 (Rs 24,200 approximately).
Xiaomi Mi 6 specifications
As for the remaining specifications, two variants of the Mi 6 will carry the Snapdragon 835 chipset and the third variant would be powered by a Helio X30 chipset. The lowest variant is said to come with 4GB of RAM and 32GB internal storage and the mid-variant with 4GB of RAM and 64GB storage. The high-end variant with the ceramic body is said to come with 6GB of RAM and 128GB internal storage.
The Xiaomi Mi 6 could use a 3,000mAh battery to keep the smartphone ticking. For connectivity, the smartphone could come with a USB Type-C port. On the software front, the Mi 6 will most likely run on Android 7.0 Nougat with MIUI OS layered on top.
