Samsung Galaxy S8 press render leaks ahead of March 29 launch, shows AI button, 18:9 display aspect ratio

Samsung’s upcoming flagship the Galaxy S8 is one of the most anticipated smartphones. The Galaxy S8 has been rumored for months now, and leaked details have revealed almost everything there is about the smartphone. At the ongoing MWC 2017, Samsung revealed that it would launch its next Galaxy flagship smartphone on March 29. Samsung is also expected to unveil the Galaxy S8+ along with the Galaxy S8. Even as we are inching closer to the official launch of the Galaxy S8, there’s just no stopping to its leaks. The latest is a press render, and to no surprise, it is very much in line to previously leaked images of the Galaxy S8.

This new press render of the Galaxy S8 comes from leakster Evan Blass. The render shows the front panel of the Galaxy S8 with the display on. As said earlier, the Galaxy S8 portrayed in the press render resembles the smartphone in its previously leaked images. Breaking down the details in the image, the Galaxy S8 is seen with a dual-edge curved display and thin bezels on the top and bottom. There is no physical Home button on the button as rumored before, and the display appears to show the lock screen. On the display, the battery indicator can be seen along with the time and date mentioned, which interestingly is March 29. Down below, the call shortcut is placed on the left side and the camera shortcut is on the right end.

More details which coincide with previous leaks include the volume rocker and power button placed on the left side of the smartphone along with the rumored dedicated button for Samsung’s new AI assistant Bixby on the right side. Seeing how this design of the Galaxy S8 has been consistent in numerous leaks, it could be the official look of the smartphone.

Samsung Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8+ specifications

Not just renders, but even specifications of both the Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S8+ have also been leaked quite frequently. The Galaxy S8 is expected to feature a 5.8-inch Super AMOLED QHD display while the Galaxy S8+ could boast a 6.2-inch display. Under the hood of both the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 SoC or Samsung’s own Exynos 8895 SoC, is expected to run. The processors are said to differ according to the markets the smartphones are launched in. The Galaxy S8 is speculated to come with 4GB of RAM and 64GB internal storage, while the Galaxy S8+ variant is likely to include 6GB of RAM and 128GB internal storage.

In the photography department, both the smartphones are expected to sport a 12-megapixel dual pixel rear camera. Up front, the smartphones could house an 8-megapixel selfie camera with auto-focus feature. As said earlier, this year’s Samsung flagships will be the first smartphones to come powered with Samsung’s own Bixby voice assistant. On the software front, both the smartphones are likely to run on Android 7.1 Nougat out-of-the-box with a layer of TouchWiz UI on top.
