Apple WWDC 2017 kicks off June 5 in San Jose

The dates for Apple’s WWDC 2017 is now official. The company has sent out invites for the event, which will take place between June 5-9 at the McEnery Convention Center, San Jose. After hosting the recent events at the Moscone Center in San Francisco. Apple is moving back to its old haunt after a gap of 14 years. The last WWDC hosted at San Jose was back in 2002.

Apple’s invite doesn’t reveal much about the event this year, except for the tagline —  “Technology alone is not enough. Technology must intersect with the liberal arts and the humanities to create new ideas and experiences that push society forward. This summer we bring together thousands of brilliant minds representing many diverse perspectives, passions, and talents to help us change the world.”

Registrations for this year’s WWDC will kick off on March 27, and Apple is expecting around 5,000 developers to attend with ticket prices starting at $1,599 (Rs 107,200 approximately). In case you are not able to attend it, you can still watch the keynote live on Apple’s website. Just like past years, CEO Tim Cook’s keynote will be live streamed, and you will be able to watch it on an iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac OS X with Safari browser, and even on Windows 10 using the Microsoft Edge browser.

As is the tradition with Apple’s WWDC, we will get our first glimpse at the next-generation operating systems. These include iOS 11 for the iPhones and iPads, wherein the company is widely expected to discuss new features, improvements, and even how far Siri has progressed. We are also likely to get our first look at Mac OS X 10.13, Watch OS 4, and even the new tvOS.

With more than three months to go for WWDC 2017, we are sure to find out more about what Apple has in store for everyone. In the meanwhile, if you need a reminder for WWDC dates, you can simply ask Siri, “When is WWDC?”
