Continuing its naming confusion, Asus has introduced a new smartphone in its Zenfone Max-series called the Zenfone 3S Max (ZC521TL). Coming barely four months after launching the Zenfone 3 Max-series in India, the new smartphone comes with a better SoC and runs Android 7.0 Nougat out-of-the-box. With focus on battery life, Asus has also added a slightly larger 5,000mAh battery on the smartphone that can last for up to 3 days or more. It also features reverse charging mode, allowing you to use the Zenfone 3S Max as a power bank to charge other devices.

Asus Zenfone 3S Max (ZC521TL), has been priced at Rs. 14,999 and will be available from via both offline and online retail channels starting today itself in Black and Sand Gold colour variants.

The highlights of the Asus ZenFone 3S Max (ZC521TL) are its metal unibody design made of aluminium, a fingerprint scanner on the Home Button that's claimed to unlock the smartphone in under 0.5 seconds.

Asus Zenfone 3S Max specifications and features

The smartphone features a 5.2-inch HD (720p) display with 2.5D curved glass on top. Its sad to see Asus using an HD display, when even smartphones priced under Rs 10,000 come with full HD panels. At the heart of the Zenfone 3S Max runs MediaTek’s 64-bit MT6750 octa-core SoC (eight Cortex A-53 cores) clocked at 1.5GHz, paired with 3GB of RAM and 32GB onboard storage. The smartphone also features a hybrid dual-SIM card, allowing you to further expand the storage using a microSD card.

In the photography department, you get a 13-megapixel rear camera of aperture f/2.0 with PDAF, and dual-tone LED flash. It supports full HD video recording at 30fps. For video calling and selfies, you get an 8-megapixel front-facing camera of aperture f/2.0 and 85-degrees wide angle lens.

Connectivity options in the smartphone include dual SIM card slots, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and 4G with VoLTE. On the software front, the Zenfone 3S Max runs Android 7.0 Nougat wrapped under Zen UI.
