It’s been a busy day today, with the likes of LG, Huawei, Nokia and Lenovo-owned Motorola announcing their new smartphones. Samsung also hosted an event to unveil a new product, but sadly, it wasn’t the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+. While Samsung will be hosting a separate event sometime next month for the Galaxy S8, today the company unveiled a new tablet – the Galaxy Tab S3. Successor to the Galaxy Tab 2, the new tablet comes with a lot of improvements and will be competing with the Apple iPad Pro.
For the Galaxy Tab S3, Samsung seems to have left no stone unturned. One of the main changes comes in the form of support for S Pen stylus to quickly let you doodle stuff and take notes. Samsung has also added support for an external keyboard that connects with the help of pogo pins. However, it’s not a bundled accessory, but needs to be purchased separately.

Talking about the design, you have the selfie camera module above the display, whereas the capacitive buttons for app switcher and back are placed at the bottom. Between these buttons is a physical home button, which also doubles as a fingerprint sensor for biometric authentication. The right edge houses a power / sleep button and the volume rocker. The tablet has four speakers, out of which two are placed at the bottom. Along the bottom you also have 3.5mm audio jack and USB Type-C port for charging and data transfer. The Galaxy Tab S3 has dimensions of 169x237x60mm and weighs 429grams (Wi-Fi variant) / 434grams (LTE variant).
