The Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2017 is about three weeks away and with each passing day, details about the anticipated smartphones are leaked online. The latest leaked smartphone is the HTC 11 smartphone that had been first detailed in December last year. Based on the fresh leaks, the flagship smartphone is expected to house Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon chipset along with and an unusual display resolution.
Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 835 processor is the most awaited chipset which will first power the Samsung Galaxy S8 smartphones followed by flagship phones from other manufacturers. The HTC 11 too will have to wait until the release of the Galaxy S8 and will evidently be skipping the MWC. In the past, there have been doubts about the existence of the smartphone named ‘HTC 11,’ owing to the company’s recent launch of its U-series of smartphones, which were labeled as the new-age flagships. However, the latest leaks indicate that the smartphone is indeed in the making and might be announced soon.
According to the leaked screenshots of the ‘About Phone’ section of the rumored HTC 11, the smartphone is powered by a Snapdragon 835 MSM8998Pro processor coupled with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. In terms of software, the phone runs HTC Sense 9.0 based – Android 7.12 Nougat.
In terms of other specifications, the leaked image suggests that the display on the HTC 11 could come with a screen resolution is of 1,556 x 2,550 pixels. Now, this is in slight variation to previous rumors which suggested that it will offer a QHD 2560×1440 pixel resolution, which basically means we could see a near bezel-less display on this smartphone. It has been previously speculated that it will carry a 5.5-inch display.
Following the latest trend, the HTC 11 is also expected to house a dual-camera module at the rear which will include a pair of 12-megapixel cameras. The dual-camera module will offer DSLR-like picture quality with bokeh effects. For selfies, it is expected to come with an 8-megapixel front camera.
Keeping the smartphone ticking will be a 3,700mAh battery. The latest chipset also allows support for Quick Charge 4.0, hence the HTC 11 will also get the advanced charging capabilities that offer 20 percent faster charging and support for Type-C.
As is the case with every series of leaks, this one too needs to be taken with caution until an official word is out. Will we see the HTC 11 debut at the upcoming conference? We will have to wait till the MWC kick starts from February 27 in Barcelona.
