Samsung Hello could be a Google Feed-like service on the Galaxy S8

We have come across countless rumors about the Samsung Galaxy S8 recently. One of the most anticipated features of the Galaxy S8 is the built-in AI assistant, Bixby. If the latest reports are to be believed, the digital assistant on the S8 will also be accopmanied by a Google Feed (formerly known as Google Now)-like service. Samsung has just filed for a new trademark in Europe for the name, Samsung Hello.

Spotted by SamMobile, the trademark states that Samsung Hello is a “software that enables block users or computers and mobile devices to access, aggregate, organize and interact with content, information and images and topics of general interest to such users.”
The trademark further says that Samsung Hello will feature an “application software that gives personalized features and information based on user’s preferences in the fields of weather, music, entertainment, games, travel, science, health, contact, and social news via voice command and voice recognition.”

The trademark also reveals it can be launched through voice commands. It is being speculated that Samsung will be integrating Bixby digital assistant with Samsung Hello at certain levels. But it’s not clear right now how Samsung Hello fits into this picture right now.  Going by the description in the trademark, Samsung Hello appears to be very similar to Google Feed, which also serves similar purpose. Users can use the feature to get personalized feed based on their preferences.

Ahead of the official launch, a lot of details about Samsung’s Bixby service have already emerged online. Besides doing the routine AI work, the digital assistant could also be used to make digital payments. It will be integrated with Samsung’s another upcoming feature, dubbed as Samsung Pay Mini.
